Druchii.net on IRC?
Couldn't it be nice with an IRC channel? like #Druchii on QuakeNet or #Druchii.net @ QuakeNet there are so many complaints about the chat atm.
Well I use mIRC alot (Cs Background ), it's a very nice "chat program"

I like to use mIRC, lots of options, fast etc.
And I can use it on a macintosh with is hard with the
current system.

I think we tried mIRC a while back (actually, might have been jIRC, though I think you were able to do both). I seem to recall that it buggered up often, and we ended up using our current system instead.
Buggered up often? eehm how long was that since? mIRC works perfectly fine, of course there is a Netsplit now and then, but it's not that bad.
Just imagne if all the members had IRC and joined the channel

Official IRC channel would be nice indeed. Though it should be clearly stated on the front page on which server it is running and by which name so that we could actually have users there. The chat program here on druchii.net is really not that good, updates pretty slow and is nigh impossible to use with some alternative browsers.
For the record, it doesn't matter which program you use to get into IRC. mIRC, jIRC or whatever, they all can make connection to the same servers and the users can be on the same channels. I myself prefer to run irc on our university's UNIX server so I can connect to it with SShell from all around the world and keep the program running and screened 24/7 so that I don't really ever have to actually leave the channels I'm on.

Ah yes, I know of IRC junkies like yourself. I had assumed that most of them made the switch to IM programs, but I'm clearly mistaken. An IM program isn't really up to a chat program, anyway.
I've never had a problem with IRC and lack of smileys, myself. People get around it, and usually by using the /me command or one of the ample text versions (O_o).

Goodbye.
I think the bigest advantage of IRC is that you can get
lots and losts of ppl in one room. You can add ./me things and you
can PM ppl when you want that. Though there should be some
advertising for the IRC option though just to get ppl in it.
But I think it would be a nice adition to d.net.

Aight - I found a good web-based-java-IRC-applet that will work good for us. This will make the IRC junkies happy as they can idle in chat with mIRC or something similar and the not-so-junkie people can just use it like they currently do but it will be realtime!!!
I will implement this sooonnn.... I have a few other projects on the table right now for the site so this will have to wait a little bit.. but not too long...

Ahhh, great Kikrit, Thanks.
I'll be searching the web again to find a nice IRC client for the Macintosh.
