As we all know, the Mordheim rulebook is based on the 5th edition rules of WHFB. Do you think that the rules should be made consistant with 6th edition? Or does the game work for you the way it is?
Metal for miniatures - plastic for toys.

yay, first person to vote, i think that the rules are fine, the game runs smoothly, there is no glaring thing that doesn't make sense, so i would say don't change the rules just yet.

The only real reason for a rules update would be if there were some really un-balanced armies which could abuse a bunch of loopholes in the rules... otherwise there'd be no point in changing them.
Unlike Warhammer, which is very competitive and cut-throat, I don't really mind a few loopholes and abuses in Mordheim now and then... it's not really a big deal.
Since it's much more of a role-playing/campaign feel, and not so focused on the results of one game, it doesn't get bogged down as much as Warhammer, and people don't mind losing so much when there's not as much invested in it.
With games going as quickly as they do, and people starting new campaigns/warbands all the time, it's not a big deal if someone has a killer group for a week or two. With the purchase of $50 worth of miniatures, you can go out and get an entirely different warband.... there's not nearly as much invested in the game (in time or money).
I think of it as more of a fun game to sit around and play with friends than WHFB... kind of like Munchkin or Dalmuti or something.
Someone who abuses the rules of Mordheim to get an advantage is just like those people who try to "beat" everyone in role-playing games... everyone just rolls their eyes and remembers not to invite him next week.

Very true MTUCache - Mordheim is more of a laid back game when compared to WHFB (at least for me).
But to answer the original question: THEY ARE GETTING UPDATED THIS WEEK! THe living rulebook which is maintained by a few guys inside GW is getting bug fixes and updates this week supposedly. Just go to Google and search for "Mordheim". The first page that pops up (www.specialty-games.com or something) is the official GW exntesion page. It has The Living Rulebook - for FREE (legally!) plus tons of other rules that you can use. Namely, the Dark Elf rules for Mordheim (find them in the Lustria rules pt. 3).
In fact, I think I'll make a post about the rules here in a sec...

The rules are being constantly updated and posted as living rulebook to download from http://www.specialist-games.com/. So there is "new edition" every moment, just new book is to be downloaded for free (then printed onon'e own cost) rather then new box being relased. Perfectly ok if oyu ask me.
We must destroy them. We must incinerate them. Village after village, army after army, dragon after dragon...
They teach our soldiers to decapitate slaves, but will not allow them to fight in three ranks because this is not cruel enough!

Every game I play there is always a question that the rules cannot answer. If it could just cover most of these. This isn't always a bad thing though, as it can add to the roleplay side of things.
What I do want them to do is realise more buildings. I missed out on Blood in the Streets so my town is pitifull. I lack the skill to make some of my own.

Actually if you look at the magic system it's the fore-runner of the current warhammer one.

ther are a lot of bugs, mostly the cost of things, and how they work, witch fit the fluf great but sucks in game terms like a hord of skaven with just to many spears and slings, and armour/handguns are far to expensive for wath they do, but ther cost fits great to the fluff.......u know a handgun is more expnsive then a crosbow, fires evry other round and have shorther range, ther only + is that they make -2 save(but who pay 50gc for a armour in the start?)

The only gripe I have with Mordhiem is that for a Skirmesh game its not detailed enough. I'd like to see some ideas from Necromunda introduced, pinning and ammo checks being a couple that IMO would add alot to the game.
Also the weapons need more detail, I never will understand how a 4x2 with a nail in the end is as effective as a finely crafted mace.
Beside that I thingk the way the guys at fanatic seem to have the right idea about the way to support a game.
