Warband models..

Post by Pale warrior »

In a warband, say I were to have a corsair with an rxb...Now, is that a model available for purchase or would it be an extensive conversion, putting the weapon onto the corsair model? And if the fellow isn't tooled up with a SDC, do I just use a different model like a shade? And keep track of the fact that it's a corsair?

Yeah, that's how it's done.

I would convert a corsair to have a corssbow using the plastic regiment sprew. It's fairly simple conversion.
For the cloak problem how about filing the scales of the sea dragon cloak thus becoming just a cloak.
Of course you still have the helmets and armour to sort out...

Does anyone us SDC in mordhiem, I always find armor costs to much.

Oh and my warband is presently made up of Beastmasters, Assisins and a Witch Elf for a Sorceress. I also dont us RXB's in case your wondering.

Interesting input, mime. Why don't you use rxb's, from what I read elsewhere on these boards they appear to be mighty useful. Is it because of the cost?

I just never seem to be able to do jack with them, I either hit and cant wound to save myself, or just dont hit!

My personal preference is for S4 missle weapons. Dont get me wrong in no way do I think RXBs should be S4, I just wont use them otherwise.

Against shooty Rieklanders:
Fey Quickness + Dodge
Sea Dragon cloak
Thats two 4+ saves against shooting, You can stick the guy out for all to see, drawing all their fire and never worry about him being killed.
Its great for siezing objectives.

As for crossbows it's true you rarely wound with them. But if you want to discourage the enemy from moving down a certain street. There isn't much better then a RXbow positioned at the other end.

WYSIWYG is a very difficult thing in Mordheim, so all the people I know tend to just omit it when possible. So people just use a model and keep track of it. I personally like to see when there is a missile weapon on a model since that's pretty easy to represent and is rather key to the game. I use two assassins as fell blades, corsairs as corsairs (even though they don't have SDCs of LA) the sorceress and beastmaster are as is, and the highborn is the corsair champ. I plan on adding a couple more corsairs but with RXBs so they'll become shades. If I ever get some shades, well, I'll have to work something new out then. ;)

Vorchild: Ah, aye that's cool. I guess it all rides on personal skill and preference, and the opinions of an opponent?

And another related question..What are the cold one beast hounds(Not sure I have the name right), just cold ones, like from the chariot?

Coldone beast hounds seem to be a hound/cold one cross breed. The strength and brutality of a Cold One (not to mention the stupidity) and some trait from a dog that allows the Druchii to control it without mounting it.
This probably needs explaining in the new fluff too. Beastmasters created them with a city enviroment in mind. Seeing the chance to test them joined up with the warbands and went off too Mordheim.

Edit: calling it a dog dosn't seem right. Some hound like creature a beastmaster found.

Notice I used the verb "done" instead of the verb "bought." That answered your question.

For the Model there is a topic called "modelling beasthounds" a few topics down from this one, it contains several good ideas.
