Rules question: Starting Warband

Post by Cat-the-odd »

Hey everyone...

When following the mordheim druchii warband threads I got puzzled:
The Duchii have the RXB or DarkVenom for a lower cost in their composition. Does it mean they get it cheaper, or is it so, that they can take the cheaper version when hireing the warriors (means the bring it from home to mordheim).
It makes an important difference, too, in the organisation of the AB-File, I'm preparing (it is for my games at home until the final version is ready).

If I rightly understand your question I`d choose first option, it is how me and my friends played ventures to the city of damned.
Hope it will help.

Unless otherwise stated the lower prices are only for the warband start, not for later games.

And you can't hire warriors in a later game and bypass the rare item availability rolls - so if you want a Corsair with a SDC after your 1st game you have to roll for the item.

(At least I remember a discussion back on the old Mordheim board about this topic where the majority came to this conclusion)

Cenyu is right.

(That statement is siggable if you so wish.)

The costs in the list are the costs payed by the warband when you create it, representing the fact that those goods are purchased in Naggaroth and not imported.

Thanks folks!

And not to open another topic: The DE Assassin is only available in Lustria games?

Technically, yes. Since using the DE warband automatically means you play in Lustria setting, no. In other words, using a DE warband in EiF or classic MH, you can still hire the DE assassin (he gets imported for everyone to hire, like everything else in those .pdfs).
