Escaping from combat

Does anyone use this optional rule? I have never seen it used, and now I read its description again and it really seems to bring no benefit (to the escapee). Or am I missing something?

Apart from leggin it away you mean? No, it's a risky move for no real advantage other than the ability to get charged next turn.

i personally never use the rule. it seems quite pointless to me.
