Man o' war ships

Hi all having borught man o' war awhile back and played afew games with it I want to try and get afew fleets together.

Can anyone give me any tips on how to make ships?? im fairly good at modelling but not with green stuff. If not can anyone give me some links to other miniture makers that produce ships to a similar scale??

Oh i forgot to say Im looking to make Dwarf (for my friend), Dark elf and a dogs of war / pirate / empire fleet.

Nice thanks for that but more looking for metal or plastic ships. Iv found afew sites just need to know the correct scale.

I think I could convert the dwarf iron clad and monitor of of WW2 ships and the black ark as to my mind it was never large enough.

For the doomreavers and doom fortress I could use hydra heads or cold one heads with the bodies made of modelling putty just not sure on whet to use for the buildings on the back??

They are plastic dude. And about the right size. I don't remember dark elves having any units that weren't either Black Arks or castles on sea snakes but if they do then just use a lateen sail model and build up the mast a bit with GS.

I have seen many of the old man o' war ships for sale on ebay, I woudl check there. I have seen specifically for dark elf fleets on ebay: black arks, sea serpeants and manticore riders.
