Druchii Bloodbowl

Post by Skazna »

I am being forced/want to play in the local bloodbowl league, and am wondering if anyone has any advice on what works with our beloved Druchii?

Yeah sure. I like to have an assasin in the defence line. Sorceress Quaterback and 2 line backers and the rest as defenders. Its very basic, but i found it works.

:)
Those that know how to win are much more numerous than those who know how to make proper use of their victories.

I'd suggest looking at TalkBloodBowl.com (kinda like druchii.net for bloodbowl)

My suggestion is
4 Blitzers
1 Runner
6 Linemen
2 ReRolls

Remember that Druchiia re the ultimate in generalists. I've found that they suck equally at pretty much everything in BB but are usually adept at playing the exact game that your opponant's team hates most. It's a bit counter-intuitive but it works for me (as well as anything does with the team....).

Also fumbbl.com's help section has a decent set of startup guides. Fan Factor is heavily favoured there.

I like blood bowl. i reckon it is a ton of fun. Though starting out is a bit rough. You dont really know how to play. but once you get the hang of it its really fun.

if you're just starting BloodBowl, druchii are a hard team to play with (sounds familiar, if you play WHFB...). It's as someone said before: they excell at doing what your enemy hates most:

don't try to play passing play versus wood elves
don't try to outrun skaven
don't try to fight the orcs.

instead: force the orcs to play passing game, let skaven fight, and thén you'll win.

oh, and the keys are: 4 blitzers (the only elven team with 4 blitzers!) and the witches. Make your opponents hate and fear the witches, then they'll leave the sidelines wide open...

It is real tricky to make the team. You will want blitzers and/or WE but you cant get that many. Both become great after the first advance as opposed to the linemen who need two advances to make it into the sweetspot. I usually take one Blitzer, two WE, one guy with glove and fill up the rest with linemen and utility stuff.

Does your leauge play with full or half advance rate? Longer seaons benefit from half advance rate but it is harsh in the beginning.
You have reached the Department of Circular Reasoning.

Please hold.

When I started out as a Rookie Coach of my Druchii I started with

2 Runners
2 Blitzters
2 Witchelfs
5 Linemen
1 Re-roll
and the rest on FF i think 1 or 2

Now I wanted to hit the pitch running and scoring, I wanted to hit the top of the league I was playing in and have a chance come end of the season of winning.

The first and very first thing you get for you team is an Apocathary.

I got mine end of Game 1, Pray you players dont get hurt

Reasons for my selection are as follows :-

Runners work fantasicly together, Stay close (with in Quick pass range) and you wont need to worry about the blitzers as dumping of and catching on 2's is good.

WitchElfs put fear into the other team, especially if you push 2 players into the croud first turn (one each side) then you will have control over the side lines, they cant work alone, thats why we have 2 blitzers to work with them. These guys put preasure where its needed and assist the witchelfs.

Those 4 players will be your primary sorce of scoring and defence.

Your line elfs make up the rest now you want 3 on the LOS and 2 just behind, if these guys get hurt, well they should have been more careful. Feed them a few TD's to gain skills I always do Dodge before Block as not all LOS players have Block to start.

Then next your looking at is 2 more Blitzers and I managed re rolls at the end of game 9, altho I have hit spiriling Expenses big time.

As mentioned above we are not the bess passing team as we dont have passing and catching skills. This is a good thing and coaches feed catch skilled players the ball and hence they skill up fast, We will use who ever is avalible and SSP get spread out.

We arnt the fastest but we can cover every square with ease if you tatics are sound,

we cant fight with the Orcs but if you get a Woodelf or Skaven team you can let the Darkside of the Druchii come out. the difference between AV7 and 8 is huge

IMHO the Druchii team is most dangerous team when the other team has the ball.

Why you ask? how can we be dangerous when we cant score. Well heres how
As like all Elf teams we can score for fun, and so when we have the ball it needs to become formallity and we score 2 turns or 3 or 8 turns. We choose.

Now the preasure is on for your opponents to score and with up to 4 Blitzers and 2 Witchelfs you can get all over any team, 1 mistake or 1 mishap and those nasty Brides of Kaine and ready to pounce and with block and tackle as early skills your getting 2 shots to down the ball carrier and then you can have the ball out and away and potentially score at a snapp. Your back on defence and they should now be thinking not again, preasure is on. If they score so what? they was ment to all the time your scoring you defence can cause major problems.

Assasins now these guys Im learning with having just bought 2 to replace lost lineelfs they add a new dimention to you game. start them 1 square behind the LOS and stab those that follow up, its not offten you hurt some one but when you do they wont follow up as easy or as offten. Also they make good catcher killers, block and dodge skills sure hands so what stab is a roll over your catcher like low armour, and when and if you miss? with a skill like tackle and shadowing you caould easily have those guys tripping all over.

These guys make good cage breakers to with leap you will get into cages easy 3+ to land next to the ball carrier and stab him he might have 3 guard assists or what ever, so what stab is all good.

Hope this helps a little.

And remeber that Apoc is for your Witchelfs and blitzers or runners if they get hurt, Miss this game or miss next game, well that players safe. Lineelfs are going to die and get hurt.
