Lord of the Rings models
I have a question....
I would like to use the lord of the rings models as a wood elf army, but the problem is I haven't seen the actual size of the lord of the rings models. I think that they are smaller, but will they still be big enough to use as a warhammer fantasy army? Would that be viable?

"So what?"
-"Just saying."

The answer is, do what you want. The models are slightly smaller (25mm scale against warhammers 28mm HEROIC)
The Heroic is the major difference meaning the lotr models have smaller hands weapons and heads if I remember correctly. What army would you use as WE?

they're smaller size and I personally think LoTR plastics are much lower quality than Warhammer ones.
As for targetting and stuff you use bases not models, it's not 40k where you can target a molecule

As long as they are on the correct base and all models representing a wood elf model are the same you should have no issue. Also I would try to get as close as possible weapon wise, but I only have a box of easterling and I am not sure if I would want to use such a limited set of models. Afterall you can't change the LOTR models if you want more archers you have to buy another box, so I am not sure if it is cheaper in the long run.

I thought the later LotR models had moved up to 28mm? The new plastics often seem bigger than the older ones at least (rangers for instance).

I actually prefer some of the LoTR stuff, its also easier to paint IMO, dunno why, but my models looked better faster with LoTR. Luck I guess. >.<

I have built an Ostlander Mordheim warband from LotR models (with exception of the ogre, which is standard Mordheim one) and they mix with other miniatures quite well. Theoretically, they should be easier to hide, because of their size, but my experience is that other players do not protest, so I guess that their size is OK. (The smaller size is actually quite dubious advantage, because if the model is small enough not to be seen behind the wall, then it does not see as well.)
In Warhammer, model's smaller size should not matter. You have to see bases.
(Note that metal LotR models often do not fit into 20x20 mm square bases - you have to cut them a bit.)
I was to hasty in my previous reply.
In the start window I get the button 'Try It' which I clicked. But it still ends after 10 minutes.
I've almost got together enough spearelves for a HE unit. It looks like they will rank up much better than the larger Warhammer miniatures.
