Mordheim Q

Post by Garluch »

Hi there, as i was reading the other topic i remembered a question that i always wondered about: As youngbloods and dregs are put in the same section as heroes, are they heroes? It seems ilogical to me as they are the fresh meat in the gang... Or have i just read wrong?

they are heroes. they are meant to be weaker at first, but with the greatest potential for advancement (starting zero exp).

some of my best heroes started life as young blodds or henchmen promoted thru "lad's got talent".
you can almost think of a young blood as a "lad" you get to purchase up front.

The traditional heroes are highly experienced and have special training under their belt. The henchmen are moderately experienced with only the basic training and afew odd years.
The youngblood heroes are very talented teenagers that your leader have gotten hold on before they are ruined by the training the henchmen got and therefor can train and mold himself to become just as powerful as he.

If they manage to reach the leader in experience they are just as tough as he except they were much cheaper when you bought them and have earned you huge amounts of cash.
Daddy! I sorta kinda had an accident... I was playing with my slave and it sorta... Umm... It's arm fell off!

It is not illogical - it works. May be you are confused by the word heroes. But that is only a word - terminus technicus - for the group of warband members with special advancement procedure and able to gain money for the warband. From the rules point of view it works well. And as was mentioned before - due to their zero starting experience, they will develop into real heroes soon.

So you mean that they are some kind of hero in training? That they are just unexperinced but talented? That makes kinda sense actually.

Sorry if I am slow to absorb theese things, i am not the sharpest pencil in the school...

.

Basically yes. Their main purpose in a game is not so much to fight/win, but tosurvive and amass XPs. But from a rules point of view theyare heroes, and as such gain XPs as heroes, and can advance and perform between-games as heroes.
