Boardgames

Post by van Awful »

I Finally Managed to get 5 friends over on a monthly basis to play boardgames for a sunday.
Having great fun with Games like Doom deathmatch, Game of thrones, Axis And alies and yesterday it was just the four of us so we played a couple of rounds of Ankh Morpork(love this game) and even the old Scotland Yard. I Wanted to try using a couple of Know no fear Boxes and rules to get them familiair with 40k and who knows, maybe even Mordheim.
Untill that time we're looking for some new games (4-6 players) Any suggestions?

thanks Walt

I own a copy of Scotland Yard and even get my students to play it as a simulation during my Research Methods class. It always makes me laugh that the Police have a limited amount of bus, train, and taxi tickets because, well, try imagining that in real life.

There has been an explosion of good board games in recent years. Some ones that come to mind include Kingsburg, Battlestar Galactica, Discworld, Lords of Waterdeep, King of Tokyo, Dominion, Suburbia, Agricola, and more.

Pandemic (the 2013 edition) has become a staple of our family get-togethers. It's a co-operative game, which means even that one weird relative who hates competitive games can still enjoy it.

I have designed my own Dungeon crawl game along the lines of HeroQuest, Warhammer Quest if you would be interested in play testing it as a group?

I have been developing it now for 2 years and almost finished the final beta - played mostly in house.

Let me know if your interested.

Some good segue-way games could include some of the GW board games, like:

Chaos of the Old World (fantasy linked)
Forbidden Stars (40k linked)
Blood Bowl: Team Manager (fantasy linked / american football)
Space Hulk (40k linked)
