Used to, it was fun, but in terms of league p[lay, luck and a couple of wins made a warband pretty unbeatable in a short amount of time.

The league I ran before Storm of Chaos was set up to establish the Club's army leader. We played for ten games, and then allowed players to choose henchmen from their warband to a pre-selected Favor value, (45pts I think) and then played a group battle.
I like dwarfs, their skin makes fine boots. :twisted:

Used to love playing path to glory, my pink marauders and I. Unfortunatly the group I played with has wittled itself down to 2 of late, and thats not a great number for the game.

Because I was messing with that for a bit the other day, and might like some feed back.

Yep, we (myself and a few others) made one backa bit on here. I would say a year ago. You will have to shovel your way through a bit.
I will gladly look at your version.

Edit: 28/06/04 was the date. I found my list on this PC, buried deep in erretas', custom rules and old armie lists. I will post it if you want, but it will proabaly get confusing with two lists.

It's a lot like Mordheim, except much less involved. If you really like the whole schtick behind Path to Glory and haven't already, I suggest you look into Mordheim since it's basically the exact same thing with a lot more diversity.

here is my suggestion, so far.

And pmpn8ez, it was actually my gf who got us into it. I've never seen any Mordenheim here, so I'm not sure how I should tradk it down.

We have a Mordheim forum here on Druchii.net if you look under the other forum catagory.
www.mordheim.com is the official site for it. From there you can get links to all the major warband rules and a small mountain of additional meterial.

2 – Sacrifice. Slaanesh demands blood in payment for your war bands protection. The Sorceress is sacrificed, in return you may make D3 re-rolls every game (roll before each game, no additional re-rolls are awarded if this is rolled again, consider it as further payment).

3-4 -Roll on the Dark Elf Skill Table

5 -Mastery. Your Sorceress is close to mastering her law, granting her +1 to cast up to a maximum of +2

6 - Second Sight. As her power forever expands she finds she can reach furthur then ever before, add an extra D6" when checking the distance for ranged spells.

7-8 -Blessing of Slaanesh. Friendly units within 6” may re-roll failed Psychology tests.

9 -Divinity. Your Sorceress may ignore her first miscast in each game.

10 -11 Blessed with D3+2 Daemonettes you for your next game only.

12 – Path of the Anointed. The first time she receives a 5+ anointed ward save. The second time this is rolled, she gains the ability Quickening blood and an extra spell. The third time she gains +1 attack and +1 wound and the fourth time she ascends to the level of an anointed, she gains +1 to all her stats, the mark of Slaanesh and causes fear.

-2 Getting put Out of Action by High Elf Champion
-2 Losing to a High Elf War band


DARK ELF SKILL TABLE . Roll a D3

1-2 -The sorceress has no time to linger, those who stand in her way must be swiftly eliminated. She hates all enemy models.
3-4 -Sorceress has learnd how to concuct powerful poisons from the few plants around to coat her blades. Her attacks count as poisoned.
5-6 - After witnessing the mercy of her god she has come to the conclusion that failing the dark prince is not a wise move. She and any freindly model within 4" are stubborn.

Note: All Chaos models are to roll on the Chaos Equipment table in the Chaos roster.
The Champion of Slaanesh advances and mutates on the Slaanesh tables.

I'm using a typesetting language, called LaTeX, introduction here or here (pdf), which is standard for everything at the place where I study.

Looking back at my version, there are some changes I would make. I tried to make it so the CoP could have as varied a warband as there chaos counterparts, while sticking to the what the models must have.
Why didn't I put spears on the list? Or Lances?

I gave them a choice, depending on how chaotic you wanted to be. I know you must be led by a sorceress but this is not in Naggaroth anymore, this is the chaos wastes, the rules change.

Have put in a large "OR" to clear that up ;)

I've half written a Lizardmen one too. It's pretty cool, as I've substituted the Chaos Gods for Old Ones. When I finish it, I'll post it.

I've been playing Path to Glory with a Tzeentch warband recently. My champ is pretty hard. In a group of 6 or so, whcih is how we play it, it's pretty fun. Any more or less and it's either too unwieldy or too unvaried.

Well I tried to play it.. but of course the champions got too powerful, and the warbands got too.. big... Suddenly it wasn´t fun anymore... maybe because we were only three guys playing it, and maybe because the rules weren´t fun... but if someone could make better rules for the game, I´d be happy to try it out..

I loved playing that. I had around four or five games of it before we went back to Warhammer. Kind of reminded me of my Necromunda days :P

This will happen with any game with which your characters will develop. Mordheim, quest, Talisman if you keep going round.

The trick is to know when your warband has passed beyong being fun. once this has happened you can restart. If all warbands are like this everyone restarts, if just the one you restart and the group decides what allowances you are given in light of this generouse deed.

Nice idea. Post it, if you don't how can we appreciate its genius?

Advancement
There are 4 main Old Ones that your Saurus can follow one of. If not, he worships all of the Old Ones equally, and is said to ‘follow the Old Ones’. He can either be associated with Sotek, Tepok, Quetzl, or Huanchi. The basic favour table is the same as that shown in the original Path to Glory rules, but the specific Old Ones expect different things to the Chaos Gods.

Losing four or more members of your warband in one game -2

Sotek
Winning a combat and breaking the enemy in the first round +2
Killing three or more enemies in combat +2
