Questions about Imperial Guard

I need a couple quick answers from you guys.

First, and on this one I just want to eliminate all doubt. A guy told me that an Executioner plasma cannon has to roll d6 for each of its' three blasts, those that roll a 1 don't fire, but the way I see it, the Gets Hot! rule has no effect whatsoever on vehicles, so this shouldn't be the case?

Second, a Ministorum Priest uses no Force Organisation slots, but is otherwise a separate HQ choice. This means you can take as many as you like [up to the stated max of 5], but does it also mean that a Priest could be your mandatory HQ choice?

Not sure about the Executioner but you cannot use priests as your mandatory HQ because they do not fill the slot up.

If you roll a one, you are not hurt, however the shot is not fired.

Page 31 of the rulebook:

under gets hot:
Because of their additional cooling systems, weapons on vehicles are not affected by this rule.


So in other words, your executioner if fine :)

The point is moot, because the Executioner cannon doesn't have the Gets Hot rule.

So Priests are only HQ for the purposes of objectives, or kill points or what have you?

I can't find anything saying that the Priests cannot be your compulsory HQ :?

Damn, my SoB use priest as a compulsory HQ in 500pts. :D

Thats the way I took it to be, though I'm not sure, you can have Primaris Psykers and Lord Commissars so perhaps you can have the priest as an HQ...

If the WH codex allows priests as Compulsary HQ then I guess that with IG that's fine aswell. But I always thought it had to fill the slot to be compulsary, and as priests do not do this, you technically only have 2 troops choices filled making the list legal in FO standards.
