Slaanesh Marines, can they work?

Post by Archamedius »

Does anyone have any experience playing Slaanesh chaos marines? Like an emperor's children based list. I like the fact that sonic weapons ignore cover, negating jink for a lot of the Eldar and Tau vehicles and units (Since Taudar seems to be the army to beat these days). You could still do two helldrakes and the like. Anyone have any experience with this type of list?

I dabbled with an Emperor's Children list when the codex was first released. Didn't have a great deal of success and quickly scuttled back to my Eldar.

They were fair devastating if you got of full salvos of sonic weapons. But I didn't stick with them long enough to give you much advice. If you have the Horus heresy list you can do alot more with them. Lots of better options.

I have. In the Rogue Trader and 2nd eras.

Probably not relevant to your question though :P

I've been thinking about this too actually. I reckon they would have a pretty good chance of being successful. Let just take a minute to think about I5 assault troops like raptors and warp talons... Coupled with nasty long range attacks. It would be a case of finding the balance is all.
