Participating Characters & their fates...

Cade Thanal (True Name: Gaelus Stormscythe) [Jcitalia4]
Cade earned favour during the Battle of the Shadowlands. Whilst he was punished for his recklessness, this warrior was awarded the new battle standard at which the troops would be rallied.

Nathra Severain [Minigrift]
Of noble blood, this Shade is certainly no team player. However, her independence has helped her survive, if not thrive on the carnage around her. Beautiful and deadly, don't expect any cooperation from her unless it benefits her own intentions.

Amanthus the Exile [Trosfuktaren]
Naturally attuned to the magical forces of the world, Amanthus was abandoned by his mother; most likely to save him from persecution and punishment for his forbidden actions as a male sorcerer. Now seeking a way to return, he is a long way from home.

Kailleth Blackthorn [dreadlord7476]
This warrior sought the life of a mercenary, following his father's brutal execution. Shot by an Asuri archer during the Battle of the Shadowlands, he was last seen passing out from loss of blood caused by his wounds. His body was never recovered, could he have survived?

Gilvaad [Amboadine]
An assassin-for-hire from a disgraced family of Naggaroth, Gilvaad prefers to strike from afar with his treasured blow-pipe. Having scraped an existence, his skills are about to be tested to their limits.

Kirael [Syjahel] (Out of play)
A cunning assassin, Kirael performed an important role in helping the survivors of the doomed attack on the Griffon Gate. As soon as he appeared, he melted away with the shadows. His fate is unknown.

Venarl [Raven_halo] (Out of play, assumed Deceased)
Having dabbled with the magical arts, this ambitious Druchii appears to have bit off more than he could chew. Last seen in a sorcerous explosion at the Griffon Gate.

Irrilith [Carathyle Maveric] (Deceased)
This blood thirsty maiden of Har Ganeth met her end during the Battle of the Shadowlands, cut in two by a Chracian's axe.

Heldrana Doomtide [Mostly Harmless] (Out of Play, assumed Deceased)
This sea wolf was last seen at camp having her wounds tended, following the Battle of the Shadowlands. She did not make it to the Griffon Gate; it is assumed a well aimed shot from a Shadow Warrior halted her march with the Druchii forces.

Khitai N'essad [Assani] (Out of Play, assumed Deceased)
This murderous Khainite was last seen in the celebratory revels at the camp of the Witch Elves, following the Battle in the Shadowlands. No-one has seen him since.

Asilah Bloodhowl [Zacharius] (Out of play, assumed Deceased)
Having lost her left hand in a battle against the Commander of High Elf forces at the Griffon Gate, Asilah fell behind in the rush to escape the slaughter. It is not known whether the Khainite survived.

Umbra [Smiler666] (Deceased)
Preferring his fists to a sword, Umbra used wits and martial skill to fight his way to the top of the wall overlooking the Griffon Gate. It was here that the Shade met his doom...
"Left alone against three deadly Druchii, the last archer whispered a prayer to Morai-Heg, she who guides the arrows. Notching it to his bow, the elf let it fly. It seemed the goddess heard his prayer, as it found a target… Umbra. The grim-faced elf grunted as the arrow pierced his breastbone and his heart. The Druchii’s eyes widened, his face paled, as he tried to walk forwards. Even dying, his will for vengeance kept him going and he staggered past Nathra and Asilah, as the archer let fly a second arrow which pierced him in the stomach. He jolted as the force knocked him, a sharp breath coming out in a plume of steam. Stretching out his hands, fingers curling into his fists, he stared wildly at the archer. He could feel his heart slowing… stopping… Umbra fell to the flagstones five steps short of the Asur archer, his blood mingling with that of the High Elves. Frozen together on the chilled ramparts, it painted a scene of devotion to the Lord of Murder on the canvas of white marble and ice."

The story began in the north west of Ulthuan, the homeland of the High Elves. A battle force, led by General Thaeken, gathered on the coast of the Shadowlands where they had landed after a long voyage from Karond Kar. Our adventurers found themselves within their own respective units, marching with the Druchii Host, until they found themselves on the field of battle in a low lying area to the north of the river Naganath. Here, the leader of the High Elf forces was slain, and his hide was taken to be used as a battle standard with which to boost the morale of the Dark Elves. The leader was a Mage, and his staff too was taken by the sorceresses of the Druchii host so that they might study it, and perhaps turn it to their own command. Victory was not without its losses. The host found their entire Cold One and Horse cavalries destroyed, and many a Noble House lost a son that day.

Determined to drive forth into the heart of Ulthuan, General Thaeken led the Host up into the Anulli mountains. In a narrow mountain pass, the High Elves had built the huge citadel and entryway to the Inner Kingdom on Ellyrion, known as the Griffon Gate. With sheer hatred and a little help from sorcerous magic and a battle hydra, the Druchii host broke through the outer of the two gates of the Pass, and a battle took place in the long paved garrison between the Dark Elves and those High Elves serving the Gate's defences. The Druchii had to win to reach the second of the gates and smash through to the other side.

However, they had been lured into a trap. Their earlier victory had made them confident and complacent. The famed Shadow Warriors of Nagarythe flooded through the broken gate, preventing any sort of retreat, whilst a flock of deadly Great Eagles rained death upon the Dark Elf host, tearing men to pieces. The floor of the citadel was slick with blood and the screams of the dying will forever be etched upon the minds of those that survived the battle.

Here is where we find our heroes. Fighting for their lives in a bid to escape this carnage. Thankfully, a secret passage has been found. If they can hold the High Elf forces off for long enough, they might just get out alive...
