AB file Druchii - debugging

Post by Cat-the-odd »

Hi Folks.

Since I like to do some programming I took the ABCreator for the Army Builder 2 and began to put in the Druchii for Mortheim. As in the threads mentioned before we'll have to playtest very much and I want these, who have the AB to use it.
The thing is that four eyes see more than two and software users get the strangest ideas of how to kill a program unwillingly. So please report me if you find bugs. This includes even the text and printout stuff (add more/clean up?).
Furthermore I'll try to put in the latest revision of the druchii list in the progress and track down the changes.

Simply copy the file into your <...>\ArmyBuilder\data\ directory.

Druchii.mor Alpha 4, rev 0
Druchii.mor Alpha 4, rev 2, 16. May 2006

If you don't have the latest Mordheim file visit www.wolflair.com
or direcltly the Downloads page for AB2x.

Have fun!

25.Jan.06: I'm still on it, new 'release' soon with better texting.

I'll get this when I update my unregistered AB (which despite my never having used autoupdate says I used them all up). I'll have a read-through and see what happens. Thanks for making it. :)

The lad's got talent! ;-)

I am not aware of any bugs, but I found some typos.

Draich in equipment (why is it there, anyway?). Dark elf weapons should probably be dark steel weapons. Halberd, not halbred.

That's all I found. Hope it helps.

Sorry, The Driach term went in two months ago when I thought about the 2handed darksteel weapons, it's the correct fluff name, I think ;).
Until now I have only one other way to include the darksteel stuff: such as gromril and ithilmar. Just as one entry in the Equipment list with the 3x price note and a value added by the user.
I'll put the changes in, but will do a new 'release' only when I did major changes or we're going to another status (will we ever see a beta since the alpha4 is noth that discussed in its basics?).

Please check the ammount of text in the AB and printout boxes! Still I'm not happy with this (some is even missing...)

Yes, this was somewhat discouraging ;-) Maybe listing only special rules would help. And one short explanatory sentence per entry. I think that there is no need to copy all the texts in the warband rules.

How come I only now came across this precious little jewel? :)

* The text on "Master of Poisons" is a little flawed, there is still reference to Fellblades in it.

* No warband rating is calculated for the Druchii warriors.

Good work. *continues building warbands mumbling happily to himself*

Oh, another thing I came across:

Promoted henchmen can't be assigned skill categories (at least Witch Elves can't, dunno about Corsairs and Shades).

Oh, Witch Elves and Shades don't have the option of taking Bucklers in the file. They do have according to the list.

For all users of the new AB3:
The lone wolfies made a core Mortheim file for the AB 3. You can find it at Lone Wolf Development.
As I understood the long help file it is meant only to support the core rulebook, but to serve a very strong template mechanism to build new races "in some hours".
So I'll try to make something for AB3, too. Therefor I need at least one of you (owning a AB3) who is willing to check my stuff. Hopefully I understand the tutorial, that we maybe can put something on the lonewolfs site at the end.

I got it right there!

Finally I made the stupid personal calculation support machine (pc) to put the file on the web.

Changes in:

Druchii.mor, Alpha4,rev 2

Fixed MoP text.
Fixed warband rating bug.
Witchelves can get the buckler, shades not (see list).
Promotions shall be corrected. If not, you maybe have to switch to AB 2.2c.

Please look over it again and again.
