WAR Minimum PC Requirements

Post by Icon hack »

After I had the pleasure to wait 11+ hours for the download so I could play the free trial period, I get to find out that my video card is not up to snuff. You'd think they could start with a small file to check your hardware specs instead of tying your machine up for hours before checking.

Or you could've checked game's requirements before downloading it... You do that with every other game before you buy it right?

I'll be honest with you, I bought this computer 5 or 6 years ago, and I don't even remember what video card it has. I just sort of assumed that since I have no problems with WoW, I'd be okay with WAR.

I just thought since they obviously check the system after the download, you'd think they'd drop a small file to check before you tie up your computer and some of their server resources all day.

5 or 6 years is like a stone age in computers, you did realise that right?

WoW has no graphics to speak of and as such has no requirements. Even WAR with its "comic book" like graphics is light years ahead of WoW.

Heh. That reminds me of something me and two friends did when we still played WAR...

We were very bored, and it just sorta... got out of hand. In a good way.

Bear with me for derailing.

The upskirt on Bat-Elf was so damn jarring.... you would think they could have stuck underwear onto the basic skin or something....

Actually, that's what they've done, I think. That grey blot is actually underwear, of the druchii variety.

It looks a bit.... shaded. And given what I've seen in other games over the years...... female characters... chainmaile.... yeah... I'm going over here now to think about nice safe things like rocks and dynamite.

I think you can get WAR to run on anything. I'm running it on a laptop that is at least four years old, with a built in graphics card. You just have to tweak it a little (Read: A lot.)
