Alien vs Predator demo is out

Post by Belial »

Yeah, so the demo is out, on Steam, PSN and XBL(I suspect).
So I download it on the ps3. And I can't find any games. Anyone with the same problem?

Also, anyone without this problem, that can tell me if it's awesome?

I'm going to have to wait 'till tomorrow to try this out, because of D&D, but I'm looking forward to it!

I hear it's starting to work on Steam now, at least, and I have heard a lot of good things.

I'm visiting my parents this weekend, but I'll be home again tomorrow night, where I can try again.

Remember the first one? (Think 1998) :D Damn, that game was good! I haven't seen the new one yet.

I've tried the demo now. It's looking real good. They chose FFA for gaemode, which is an idiotic choice if you ask me, but the races play great.

There's some balance problems, I know that. Predator weapons are crazy-easy to use, and are for the most part one-shotters. In addition, they can also easily outmelee the alien. Very frustrating.

They cannot "easily" out-melee aliens. A good Predator player can however easily out-melee a bad alien player.

Predator weapons are only easy to use against players who doesn't know how to avoid them.

The reviews don't seem too positive, by the looks of it (5.5 on gamespot. Ouch). Shame really, given that the original (got that with a graphics card back in the day) and AvP2 were both really good games.

I think I'll stick to ME2 for the time being. March sees SupCom2 and Dragon Age's expansion...so there's plenty of good stuff coming for me :D.

The reviews as usual on Gamespot are to be disregarded.
Gamespot has an annoying tendency to be prejudiced and even irrational.

In any case I loved the AVP3 game.

I did love it, but not enough to keep it. I've put my copy up for sale. Was fun, but not a keeper.

Like the previous two it'll actually be one of the few shooters i'll dig up every once in a while.
The only thing I found regretable is that to maintain a degree of balance several Pred goodies were dropped.
Also multiplayer could use more maps.
