Curse?

Post by Neanderthal05 »

whats the curse of Aenarion? I was reading about it in one of the other threads but that was like 5 pages long and i dont think people read that far so i decided to ask here.
Well, at least all of your arm waving and arcane babbling was impressive.

Not exactly sure about it in fluff terms, but in game terms, it is a special rule for the High Elf twins, Tyrion and Teclis. But since posting stats or rules on the forums is against the rules, telling you how the thing works would not be allowed :P

In fluff terms, the Curse of Aenarion means that Aenarion's descendents are powerful warriors, destined for true greatness -- but to also flirt with insanity and madness.

Well, to answer from what I read, I think the curse goes back to the moment Aenarion drew the Sword of Khaine from the altar, breaking the rules. He then forsook all his progeny and it was then known as Curse of Aenarion. Some speculate that the Curse is present in both the twins and in Malekith as well. In the twins, it works protectively, however, in Malekith, some people tend to think that the curse reflects on him in two ways:

1) He's both a great warrior AND wizard

2) He has an immense charisma and is the ruler of the Dark elves.

But, my advice, read that 5 page thread ;)

Thanks for the link, Azure. Nice to know what it actually means :) Even though that focuses mainly on the High Elves...

What, you think we don't have any over here? ;) I refer you to the user whose name is "CunningHighElvenSpy". ;)

Besides, maybe they like it better over at Asur...

You mean such as Shadowblade? Pfft. He couldn't even kill a blind elf.

And Anaryin, could you link to the topic that's here on D.net? On the Asur one, I've read it before. I spend way too much time on A.org for my own good, so I'd like to see the D.net ideas about the curse.

Well he's not that Cunning, he's been murdered, ;)

Nah, I only like the Role Play, most the other stuff is complete rubbish, in my opinion. All of the players only play Asur, and maybe some other army (1 out of 20 players, ;) ), anyway (except for the spies).

As to the Curse, I'm with Anaryin, I believe it all started with the drawing of that ruddy sword. Who needs it, anyway? *Throws Sword of Khaine and it's temple to the Chaos Wastes* :P

But maybe there were more side affects for Malekith than just the fighter and Mage side, as well as his Hitler side...? (You know, we really need someone to get Gav off the Fluff team... :P ;) )

Yes. The Curse that plagues Aenarion's line started when Aenarion drew the Sword of Khaine.

You could send a petition to GW about it. I don't know that they'd listen, but you could send one anyway... :P
