Aye... I noticed it as well on the pictures of new stores. Hm. I wonder what it means ;)

Travel has been keeping me away... But, yes, Edinburgh and the new Tottenham Court Rd store are both labelled Warhammer - White caps on black.

Hmmmm.....

Seems like they are placing their bets on Warhammer... Perhaps this bodes well for 9th.

Truth be told, I'm not sure how to feel about it; I've been let down too much by GW pricing and model design in the recent past, now I just take things as they come and cope with them as best I can..... :( :( :(

NK.

I have a theory.

They have released Age of Sigmar, replacing Fantasy

Give them a year, maybe two, they will release Age of... the Emperor?

The rules will be identical to Age of Sigmar and allow for cross use of both 40k and Fantasy miniatures.

Thus a single system, a complete massacre of decades of building two separate IPs will be born, GW stock will finally plummet beyond repair, Hasbro will buy it out and bring back separate systems of Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k

(ok that last paragraph is wishful thinking)

It seems depressingly possible (except for the last half of the last sentence: the first half of the last sentence seems sad yet viable, the second seems wonderful yet improbable) - it's even possible that they decided to use Fantasy as the test case because there is less at risk. 40k is already a bit closer to the AoS model (round based models, already plays more like a skirmish game), so it actually wouldn't be quite as much of a shell shock as it was for Fantasy. That said, I'm still not convinced Age of Sigmar is not really just a way of killing Fantasy altogether, in which case they won't do the same to 40k.

I have big reasons to believe Age of Sigmar is not a way to shelve fantasy. Actually one big reason.

If they shelve Age of Sigmar, that guy stays there for who knows how long making people wonder what the hell it is about.
