How do you convert a Noble riding a Dark Pegasus?

Post by Stuntykiller »

hi - apologies if this has been raised before but i have checked the first few pages of this forum and couldn't see anything.

A lot of people in the tactics / army list forums mention using a Noble riding a DP in their armies, but as there is no such model how do other people go about converting theres? Or rather than converting is there an existing model from a previous edition?

I personally have gotten hold of an OLD model of a DP without a rider and so set about converting one on. However, the way the DP is positioned leaves little room for a rider, so instead I copied our woodland cousins' warhawk riding skills and modelled a Noble standing on the back of the DP in a 'surfing' kind of style, with sword raised in one hand and chains / reins from the DP's mouth in the other hand. it looks a bit cheesy for the Druchii but also looks quite dynamic and in my view certainly different. Camera is currently under repair so no picks as yet i'm afraid.

But yeah, just wondering how other people go about getting a noble on DP onto the tabletop?

Well, I did it by cutting off and filing away Morathi's legs from the body, and then just got a CoK champ as the noble, and stretched/bent his legs a bit so that they fitted between the wings snugly. I'm probably going to do the same thing for any future peggy riders, because it worked quite well, and looks pretty good.

i.e. move into position, huge ammounts of shooting, nobody gets killed.

Buy the 5th edition pegasus and stick on it a noble (CoK champion, conversion, what ever you like...).
Anybody agree with me that the new peggie is crap? The older one is mooooore beautiful, I love the dragon wings and and the position.

Its made from a WE elven steed with DP wings. The body is from a DE warrior and the legs from a bretonnian knight. The head is a combination of the DE warrrior champion head and a COK helmet.

Well this can be an easy question but I took it the hard way. This conversion is'nt easy and could take some time. I found the pegasus we had rather small and not verry dynamic. I made a tutorial witch was used in the Monthly (now called Herald). It's here, on page 45.

Good luck, and if you have questions after reading, just ask.
