Help needed. Death Hag BSB conversion

Post by Heldane »

Hello all.

I have decided to use a death Hag Battle Standard in my new Dark Elf army. However, I am stuck when it comes to the idea of converting her.

I dont want to use a witch elf standard as its to easy, so I'm after ideas.

At the moment, the only thing I've though of so far is using Lelith Hesperax from the dark eldar line as a base, and converting from there.

Any ideas or suggestions will be welcomed.

Cheers
Dan

My friend did this:

The cauldron hag, with the banner hand from the old metal cold one command group. He repaced the goblet with a sword.

Could be easier by just replacing goblet with banner if using the hag from cauldron...

When it comes to this, I'll just use the regular WE STD.

Thanks for the comments so far.

I could use the Hag from the cauldron, however I think the model is actually better suited as a sorceress. Also, as I said I'm not keen on the idea of using the witch standard bearer.

Does anyone have any ideas on using the 40k model of lelith hesperax? At the moment I'm thinking she needs a head swap, but cant think of what from, and her trident arm can become the arm holding a banner aloft.
Add to that a weapon swap on the sword she has, a scaabbarded blade at her waist and I should be getting on to a somewhat ok conversion?

Keep the comments coming!

I am converting Lelith Hesperax into Hellebron and using Morathi's head in the swap. Maybe you could use her head too?

I used the witch elf banner bearer but replaced the top with the banner from the chaos marauder sprue.

Back in the glory days old 5th edition, I used a Witch Elf Hero with a Halberd to lead my Witch Elves, and used Lelith Hesperax as my conversion basis. In her left hand, I put a cluster of severed heads from the zombie sprue (I think, I don't rightly remember), and I used a Pheonix Guard halberd in her right. I still have that model laying around here somewhere, if I can find it I'll take a picture and post it.

But everyone I played against seemed to like it quite a bit. She definately looks very "alpha female" when sitting in a unit, and with some minor conversion work, her armor can come across as very appropriate for a fantasy heroine. I say go for it.

Outside GW the Hyperboria Line of Crocodile games have an amazing sorceress that can be converted into pritty much any female elf you want. IIRC. I'm using that as a base for all my female characters....

I think using the witch elf banner bearer would be an easier conversion.
