Druchii Blasphemy! (Cold One Knight for a Blood Knight!)

Post by Silas witchblade »

Just wanted to post this over here since it is a Druchii kit, well the Knight at least. But here is the first of five Blood Knights I am working on. I know its not much, but I will post more in the future!

It looks great! No shame in not paying $75 for a box of 5.

Hehe go ahead and save yourself some big bucks. It's definetly worth using other armies. Nice conversion and painting, nothing to be ashamed.

That looks good. As cool as the Blood Knight models are, I can see why people are building their own. They are way too expensive. Good work!

I used some Empire and Dark elf bits to make my Blood Dragons Vampire.

Namely Empire General horse and rider's legs, cold one knights torso, lance shield (and arm), dagger, and Corsair Reaver head.

I think I might use the sme style as you did.

I can see mostly Bretonian knight bits with a cold one lance, head piece, shield symbol and possibly cold one torsos?

What boxes did you use and what would the estimated cost be?

Since I used the shields and various helmets from the Bret Knight and other kits, I cant give an exact cost. However, since you can buy 5 Brettonian horses directly for GW Online for $15, plus a box of Cold One Knights for $22, this project will only run a mere $37! A far cry from $75 for the metal Klood Knights!

That looks pretty good. And sparked an idea for me atleast. VC armies have always been one of the best armies to incorporate bits from other armies just because its not too difficult. Have you considered making undead cold ones? It shouldnt be so complicated to pull off
Daddy! I sorta kinda had an accident... I was playing with my slave and it sorta... Umm... It's arm fell off!

Looks good and certainly a cost savings as well. The Druchii bits really make a difference in setting him apart from the standard Bretonnian knight. Well done overall. I might suggest making the reds just a bit brighter. Especially on the shield, the red appears quite dark. Your army would "pop" a bit more on the tabletop with a brighter red, but would still look sufficiently evil with all the black on the models.

That looks sweet, very keeping with the Bretonnian origin (Blood Keep is in the Mountains between Bretonia and the Empire?).

Great painting too. Congrats.
