I'm having a harder time with the flesh, I've always seemed to have a harder time with that. So please let me know if I'm painting the flesh alright.

What do you think of my work so far?

looks nice so far, but I would replace the blue colour with some golden or bronze

Very nice!

I have a similar color scheme for my army, but didn't use the contrast with blue.

For the green armor, I spryed/painted black, then I drybrushed it with a dark angel green, and then another round and much lighter with goblin green before I went for the highlights ending with Scorpion green (IIRC). I think the contrast between the extreme highlight between the black and Scorpion Green is a tad bit to much. Just an idea.

Also if you are in Lustria try to get hold of extra shields, weapons and trophies from a neighburing Lizzieplayers bit box, works wonders :D.

Good Luck and keep the work up to that class and you''ll have a very nice looking army!

Here's a WIP of a conversion I'm working on.

It's due to a small contest with a fellow member of the Chaos Dwarf forums. We're having a running joke of our debate as I also play DE, and he plays Lizards.

So we're competing on making a conversion, painting it, and having some fluff behind it.

I hope I can pull of the look of a flayed Saurus warrior... for a banner...

The totem is emerging from the ground, just as it would if it had been long abandoned. I'll have moss growing on it, just like the cork (which I'll paint as rock).

The rider isn't glued in yet, just sitting in the saddle to show how he'll look.

RAVE ON!!!!!! :D I just love the color scheme!! Nicely done but you could fill the gaps of the BT base. It would look a lot nicer.

I really like the green and blue you have going. If I did not have two green armies already I would think about using similar colors on my next one.

I have had a hard time with flesh too. Right now my new Dark elf army flesh color is Bronzed ( that does not look right...) flesh , then I inked it with watered down blue ink, about half and half, and then I highlight it with strait up bleached bone. So far i like it alot.
Of course I hate the newist army book, it's not an army I own!
(common reaction when an army gets a new book...)

I am a bit confused. Your army is based in lustria but your basing is more desert themed. Are you going to add more foliage or plant matter to the bases? You could make some great unit fillers with aquarium plants and some paint.

Nicely done. I chose a very similar color scheme , but I like the way yours looks better than mine.

I think the Executioner is especially nice looking.

I don't like the flower power hippie color theme, but this is one unique druchii army.

They look like a mix of high and wood elves... :S

The CO conversion is really really nice!

Thanks for all the compliments.

The cav will have some on the rocks, like my Dark Riders and the CoK I have pictured. I have some vegetation I'm going to add.

I'm seriously considering some water effects, but I want to read up on that to get it right.

Plus the display board, when I get around to it, will really cement the theme.

Where I've seen these minis before?

I really like your cold one knight, the helmet is really a cool touch.

I second other people when suggest water effects, they would really look cool. :D

That is a nice army you go there! Like the colourscheme, although I do agree with Zeb, I too think you should do a bit more highlighting before sharp highlighting with scorpion green, now it is just a bit to sharp.

About that wicked looking cold one rider: he looks nice 8) ...
Love the way you made that lizzie helmet and the flayed skin on his lance. Really, really nice work.

Cheers!

Wow... been a while... I took a break to do my 2nd Chaos Dwarf army... but I'm back to working on my Druchii... and the more I play them the more I like them too.

The cool news is this might be my best or one of the best armies I've painted yet... now if only the camera will do it justice... but as I value a good looking army foremost... Druchii may become my main army now.

Blue and green is realy cool theme.
Never think of this collour combo for a dark elf army.
The army looks great with the collours.
Some units have more blue then green and others more green.
This make your army looks like 1 army instead of part of several fractions.

The bases are ok too, the plants make the more Lustra feeling and the plants on the rocks make it more jungle :D

great work!!

Here's what I'm thinking for a Cauldron conversion...

Seeing as I can't see them lugging that big old thing through Lustria, but I want the option to take it... here's what I'm thinking.

Model a Skink spawning pool. Have a couple dead skinks (probably partially emerged)... with their blood spreading through the pool. It's be a very small pool, but I figure it'd still look cool. A Witch elf standing over it with a skink head in hand (and decapitated skink at her feet).

Think this would look cool?

Plus it'd be cheaper for me too, and fit my theme.

That's sounds bloody cool, just one thing: Where's the Khaine aspect? I mean, it should be dedicated to the God of Murder...
Or do you make a tiny fluff thing about the khaine aspect in the spawning pool?

@Farodin: Very good point. That is a very good point. Thank you for point it out. I will put some more thought into it... but make it look like a ceremony where skinks are being sacrificed was my original intent.

Perhaps blood being use to write the Rune of Khaine on some sort of pillar/monument/boulder?

For chariot alternatives I'm thinking of having on a chariot base: 2 ridden Cold Ones (so basically what looks like 2 Cold One Knights) pulling a cart with Lizard slaves in it! It'd be easier to justify than actual chariots, but also really sell the theme they are invading Lustria and attacking Lizardmen.

Would this be awesome? As I won a box of Cold One Knights (I already have 10!) and I could make two chariots this way (and have one to beef up a unit while the other unit gets a character).

Mate, I love where this is going! Do you know the executioner where he is holding up his draich? Probably you do, that'd be the perfect model for executioning!
Now what do you think about this:
A spawning pool, drenched by blood, a skink ready to get sacrificed in the name of Khaine while surrounded by decapitated skinks... And in terms of making: the executioner with the draich up in the air can be the "executioner" of the skinks. One sking is holded down by a with elf while he raises his draich. To make it even more "Khaine-like" I like that idea of you with a pillar with a Rune of Khaine.
One thing though: I don't know if this is even possible :( , but lets not get ahead of ourselves. What do you think about it?

About the chariot, I hate to be so critical, but I don't really think that would be so chariot-like IMHO. And the really bad thing is that I don't have a better idea :? ...
