You are a machine!! I've been struggling to get a decent sized unit painted myself.
Nice job on the shades - I love the heads on those models, best ones around IMO.

That is the best unit of shades I've seen in a long time! Well done!!

Re: [PLOG] booah invasion 2015
Thanks for the comments. I've struggled getting the corsairs done this month and have sidelined them for the time being. However I did paint up three surfers which will play as glade riders. (This was part of the list from end times khaine)
I also managed to get some final army shots. About 4000pts (character heavy).
I have still got some witches, a cauldron, couple of characters and corsairs to return to but am now building up and painting forces that I think roughly match the ones in AoS starter set (between 50-60 wounds. I will be starting with some trees next (3 tree men, 20 dryads, branchwraith) which I hope to get painted up pretty quickly as I am on holiday.

Army looks great displayed all together.
Can't wait to see what you do with the trees.

Oh man, those trees! I've been tempted to buy the guardians of the deepwood box, to use it in AoS where it can actually be played like an army. It's still quite a budget, but man that will look great! I look forward to your progress.

Nice gliders!
You have a very impressive army,
I look forward to more updates on your army and especially I am curious about all those trees!

Re: [PLOG] booah invasion 2015
Thanks for the comments. I had already made a bit of a start with my trees before my last post but manage to get them painted up very quickly. I followed the gw guide for durthu and wanted to keep the dryads pretty basic-not sure if I like glow effects or not. I think it's quite a cool little sigmar force.

very nicely done - where do you find the time, I wish I could churn models like you!
Well done.

Re: [PLOG] booah invasion 2015
I have waves of getting a lot done and then not so much. Keeping a plog definitely helps. I usually paint most nights in the evenings while in the front room with my partner as she watches some tv, in between that 7:30-11:00 period probably between 30minutes to 2 hours although I can go for longer if I'm really into it. I'm going to switch to elves of all kinds over the next couple of months (need to finally paint that island of blood set) before switching back to a witch elf cauldron list:
And will also be painting up the chaos guys to finish the starter set (pics of my stormcasts below)

Nice colour scheme on the Sigmarines. Far better than GWs version I think.

Re: [PLOG] booah invasion 2015
Very nice job there. Didn't feel like the oval bases for the cavalry?
Re: [PLOG] booah invasion 2015
I always wanted to complete a display board when I started my dark elves but I never quite got round to it (seemed a big and mess job, little figures seemed easier). But after seeing Cults agmazing job from a few years ago and the corsair ship in progress I decided to at least get a board together for Armies on Parade in two weeks (nothing too fancy though). I hope this will be a good way to round my poriginal Dark Elves off:

Great job - love these type of projects. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
By the way are you in Australia? Armies on Parade is in a couple of weeks here as well. I don't think I will have mine done by then

Re: [PLOG] booah invasion 2015
Thanks Cult, I'm in England although our store manager is Australian if that counts.
@Amboadine-I did think about the oval bases, but they still weren't out when I started this army and I have over 80 cavalry to paint across different armies and the thought of spending £50 purely on bases for them in addition to all the infantry, monstrous infantry big monster etc. made me want to cry. I also wanted to do this force up quite quickly.
I have now completed my board and it is currently on display in store, wanted to make sure there was some fantasy as most choose 40k.
I have included pictures of how I did it, it was very simple but I am happy with the overall effect although I need to get better photos of the final army on the board.
After the previous post I added some biscuits(cork) to the base then primed it black. I then drybrushed Caliban Green all over and then progressively mixed in a bit of white scar and finally a pure white scar drybrush. I then added grass tufts and made some snow out of baking soda and pva glue and did the road to match the bases of my darkriders. I then used pollyfilla to make the sea effect the same on my bases and washed this with coelia greenshade, with drakenhof nightshade and druchii violet in places, I then drybrushed white over the top and added a varnish. I'm quite happy with the overall look and time spent on it and can definitely see myself doing this again with a different army.
I am really pleased that I did it as I feel it really rounds off this Dark Elf force nicely. It feels like my most complete project as future units will probably be in a different scheme as I have no executioners, wyches, warlocks that could easily be a force in their own right quite different to this one.
